on a final note, this was a great culinary trip that rivaled my culinary experience in new orleans pre-katrina. much thanks to the hwei's for getting me through asia. without them, i was pretty useless on the trip because of a lack of mastery of the chinese language. the most important things i will take away from the trip is the first hand experience of seeing the rapid development and capitalistic power of china, a basic understanding of the difference between being from china, hk, and taiwan, and the cerebral conversations with the hwei family.

my traveling itch is currently satisfied and school starts on monday. however, it is 6 am, i have been blogging all night after watching "there will be blood" at the theaters which means i am experiencing major jet lag. oh well :)
